Is the Hamilton miniseries worth watching

We have been watching the Hamilton movies - the Swedish spy from the books by Jan Guillou. I've just discovered there are some tele-movies made with Stellan Skarsgard as Hamilton, and also a TV series in the late '80's that was later made into a movie in the '90's, also starring Skarsgard.

Did anyone watch the tv series, and is it worth tracking down?
