Who's watching the new HBO series Westworld? It's written by Michael Crichton (the guy behind Jurassic Park) and produced by JJ Abrams (who's behind some of the greatest science fiction movies/shows).

Newly launched on HBO, Westworld is sci-fi meets western meets thriller. Image courtesy of IMDB.com

The premise is a fictional theme park called Westworld, where people pay to experience life (in a very real and highly technological way) in the old wild west. The park is populated by androids 'host' and participants 'newcomers'.

The cast is solid with Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood and others.

It's got plenty of action and suspense and even if you're not a sci-fi person, it's still worth checking out.

I haven't checked out Westworld yet, but I've read a lot of great things! I had no idea the show had such an accomplished cast.
Not me - another one I havent heard of but I only have free to air TV - perhaps this is not?

Us 2! It's great isn't it? Why pay to watch TV shows, when there's 1,000's to watch 4 free! SBS had 250 free movies, & 250 free doc's. Take your pick. So much choice out there, 4 free!!!

Sounds like an interesting plot, but I haven't got HBO.
I haven't seen it yet but it sounds interesting.
I started each week to watch it, but! then it got really 'DARK' and for me it took away the enjoyment.

I don't like the way some shows go that way, and I found myself feeling really down....after a while.
I had to stop watching, I feel if the writers have to go so dark to get a story line, then that is not my kind of 'story'!

The shock value is leaving less and less for us to even accept the story line.
I don't mind 'shock' but not time after time....you run out of plot in the end.
