There are many British actors I adore but Stephen Fry tops my list.
He is brilliant.
Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, Terence Stamp, Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet, Julie Andrews, Hugh Laurie, Clive Owen, Robert Pattinson and Gerard Butler - in no particular order.

It's a toss up between Helen Mirren and Judi Dench - both fabulous!
I always thought Judi Dench was born in Australia?
I have many favourite English actors and could not narrow it down to one or two!
by Finy
Nope, born in Yorkshire.
Dame Judith Anderson was born in Tasmania. So was Errol Flynn.

Like Finy, I have a lot of favourites, but if I were pushed, I'd go for Julie Walters
Benedict Cumberbatch is my favourite these days.
Alan Rickman is my favourite english actor
Gary oldman he can play anything. Just great.
I would also have to join the crew who have many favourite British actors, however, thinking about it, hands down it has to be Bill Nighy on top; Maggie Smith; Julie Walters (she can do anything and anyone); Gary Oldman; Helen Mirren; Emily Blunt; Hugh Laurie; yes, Michael Caine too, but he's done some dumb roles too, Terence Stamp, Peter O'Toole - such savoir faire; of course Judi Dench; Richard Niven; Kate Winslet and do Chris O'Dowd and Catherine Zeta Jones count???
Yes, Welsh is still British.
Who's 'Richard Niven'?
Do you mean David Niven?

Maggie Smith
Benedict Cumberbatch is number one for me. So much so that I am going to London this year to see him play Hamlet. 100% favourite actor right now. He's so skilled at giving nuanced performances.
Mr Bean
My fave current actor: Ciaran Hinds.
Ditto, actress: Dame Maggie Smith.

Through the ages:
Peter O'Toole, Larry Olivier, Alec Guinness, John Gielgud, Jack Hawkins, Alan Bates.

Helen Mirren, Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Margaret Tyrzack.

I'll stop there! Could probably easily list 100, or more!
