Hands down Kat Stewart and Asher Keddie! Definitely Cate Blanchett and shree Deborah Mailman. Overrall, Geoffrey Rush is brilliant, loved him in: The Banger Sisters. Sean Keenan is a great young star; he was great as Lockie Leonard; also Susie Porter is very versatile. Like Rhys Muldoon, also for Lockie Leonard; Anna Mc gahan, also versatility could mean up and coming. Richard Roxburgh has to get a mention. Will always be a little in love with Bryan Brown, though. Helen Morse was the forerunner to present day Cate Blanchett. Wonderful Australian mini series A town like alice - 1981.
Current stand out favourite, Kat Stuart.... or is that Stewart? Great comedy timing. But really there are so many great Australian actors. Not only the ones who have made the big time and changed their heads with plastic surgery in the USA.
Impossible to name them all as really we are brilliant! It's our newsreaders who need to learn to speak properly again.
Actor to me is male, so Craig McLachlan.
Actress to me is female, so movies, Cate Blanchett, & TV, Rebecca Gibney.
There've been so many good actors & actresses in this Country, from the '40's through to now. Think of all those people on Radio, before TV came along. Then the folk in the beginning of TV.........Brian James, Ron Haddrick, Neva Carr-Glynn et al.
Through each decade, fabulous Stage & TV thespians!
Australia has/is very fortunate, in the performing arts, in many ways!
