While the systems operate differently, which political drama do you prefer - US or UK? We watched the US House of Cards first and then watched the UK version but couldn't get past the first episode.

Thrown into the mix is the growing Australian love of the Danish Borgen.

Do you have a preference?

I don't watch political dramas in general, but I always prefer UK ones because it is my own country, and the system I am more familiar with. I enjoy the political comedy, Yes Prime Minister. I have seen some of the American drama, West Wing, but it doesn't interest me.
I tend to like the US ones more but more because they're more extreme, rather than the system. I did like Grass Roots, which was a comedy on Australian Local Govt...
Lydia, I find it extraordinary that you couldn't get past Episode 1 of the UK version of 'House of Cards'! It's considered one of THE best UK TV Drama's!

Couldn't ask for any better actor in the main role than the late, superb Ian Richardson. Saw him on stage here in 'The Hollow Crown', with Sir Derek Jacobi & Dame Diana Rigg. Marvellous! Talk about acting 'royalty'!

IMO, UK made Drama's are just the BEST! Always have been, & will be. They've got a certain 'something' that U.S. ones' just don't have!

That's not to say there aren't any good dramatic US actors. I think Kevin Spacey is very good.

But, to each his or her own!
