Is it just me, or did science-fiction take a huge backseat in terms of new shows on TV right now?
There are still some classics like Doctor Who that are still around but it seems sci-fi is destined to fail with current audiences. The only new sci-fi that I can think of that’s doing well is The 100 and Extant. Helix is doing alright, but it's more of a suspense or horror with a sci-fi aspect to it. Almost human got canned before it’s first season even finished, Revolution lasted three seasons but it got canned too…has there been anymore? Do you miss good sci-fi, or has it grown old?

Genres are cyclic as creativity-poor producers piggyback on the success of those who can come up with a new idea. I'm predicting that we will see a resurgence of westerns in the near future. A politically correct Bonanza, anyone?
Ha, that's entirely possible. I actually thought Longmire would have been that 'western' even though it wasn't really western.
