What would you think about the Scream franchise moving to TV?

It seems if a movie isn’t getting a big screen reboot then it’s moving to the small screen instead. First Syfy announced an adaptation of the 1994 film 12 Monkeys (check out the trailer) and then Sam Raimi announced an Evil Dead TV Series and now MTV has announced a TV adaptation of Scream.

I think this could be cool - emphasis on could. I like that older movie franchises are making their way to TV, and horror is making a good go on the small screen right now, so I see the potential for a fan base. I'm just not sold on the whole idea of a Scream TV show. What gives me hope is the success of Hannibal, I didn't think it could last either, but the series is doing rather well at keeping flow in the story. I'll have to wait and see on this one.
I loved the movies. Not sure how I feel about a TV show though. Depends on where they take the plot, which I think was finished.
It's been done to death already, no pun intended.
