What do you think makes the best kind of crime show? Is it when a team investigates a crime, or when you have one main detective? Do you prefer proper cops or vigilantes? Do you like to see the murder/crime or have it off screen? Do you want to know who the killer is or try to figure it out?

I prefer a team but with one or two leads, similar to Bones. Still, I've been really enjoying Hannibal with is essentially a single lead - Will Graham - who is attempted to prove Hannibal Lector to be evil. Hannibal is also classified as horror but if you take the 'horror' aspect away, it's all crime drama.
English or European crime shows. Less violence/explosions/bang-bang noises and more intellectual content.
Here here.
The only crime show I particularly like is The X-Files, which isn't really considered a crime show at all. Outside that I do enjoy snippets of a few others, such as A Touch of Frost, which is based around one detective, and is about the detective more than the crime.
