AMC has finally announced that they have ordered a pilot for the Walking Dead spin-off that they have been talking about for almost a year now. I guess they are not as confident in the spin-off as was once thought. What do you think? Will a Walking Dead show work without Michonne, Daryl, Rick and the gang or does the world of The Walking Dead have much more to offer outside of these great characters?
I think keeping some lead characters are important. And, I do believe that the next series would be interesting if they finally make their way out of the town area that have been in for a while. I think, though, they might loose some viewers if they choose to loose all the characters.
The universe of the Walking Dead is pretty cool, but it also seems pretty one-dimensional. The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, says there are all kinds of aspects the main show has yet to explore, so we have lots of things to look forward to. The Walking Dead's first two seasons were amazing, but even though I tune in every week, I'm not digging the show as much as I used to. I'm hoping a new show based on the same world will help bring back my enthusiasm.
I found myself a little bored and frustrated with the end of the last season because they seemed to be stuck in a prison with them having to go through the same places. We did get a glimpse of a horizon where you saw tons of zombies walking into the "sunset" and then that was never highlighted again. With all of them scattered....it will be interesting if they ever regroup...!
