It's Showtime's latest dark horror/mystery show set in the late 1800's.

It cleverly weaves through the stories of Dr Frankenstein, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray and many other of the classic Gothic novels of the past in a really clever way.

It's a little bit gruesome (think Jack the Ripper era) and very dark and really surprisingly well written.

Not for me.

I find this kind of viewing makes me depressed, so I look for things that
put me in a good 'head-space'.
I've been watching, and enjoying Penny Dreadful although I admit I sometimes find the accents hard to follow and many scenes are really too dark. Regardless, the new take on old-school horror is too juicy for me to pass up!
It sounds interesting, but I don't think it's on here.
