Victor Meldrew is the grumpy old protagonist from One Foot in the Grave. Everything always goes wrong for him, he is always grumpy about it, and we all laugh at his misfortune.

In the last episode, however, Victor dies. What do you think of this ending? Do you think it is a appropriate finale? Do you find it touching or just sad and the ultimate unfairness for this unfortunate character? What about the way he dies?

Are you fine with the character dying, or would you have preferred he'd lived?

I was really sad when Victor died. I know we are meant to laugh at all his misfortunes, but this felt a step too far for me. Out of all the bad luck he has, it seemed unfair to kill him off as well. It makes me feel guilty for laughing all the times before that.
