If you could play a character on television, who would it be?

I was thinking about how I would answer this question, but have failed to come up with an answer as yet. Hmm...if I was to play somebody, it would have to be a character vastly different from myself just for the fun of it. I envy actors for the sheer fact that they get to try on different 'skins'. How fun!

If you could play a character, what sort of character would if be? Or, perhaps more interestingly, if you could play a character that has already graced our screens, who would it be?

I really enjoyed the lead character in the TV show 'Monk' - the obsessive detective. What a brilliant character. A bit like Sherlock Holmes only funnier. I'd love to play that character.
Oh gosh, I had forgotten about 'Monk'. His character was brilliant and funny. I wonder if it's available to purchase on DVD.

I would play a cartoon character because then I wouldn't have to be on TV; you would just hear my voice.
I can see the appeal. Everyday life would be easier than if you were acting. You could do your own grocery shopping, for example. People wouldn't be flagging you down for an autograph every other minute because you wouldn't be so easily recognised.

I think I would want to play Batman, but the Adam West type of Batman, not the Christian Bale type of Batman. If not Batman, then I would like to be a Klingon on Star Trek, preferably in a TNG reunion ;)
Interesting, interesting. Batman would definitely be a fun role to play.

I think so, particularly if you get the play a fun Batman. I would get a huge laugh out of hearing the theme music played in between my scenes. "To the Batmobile" 'NanaNaNana NanaNaw!"
