Back in the 60s the BBC used to wipe master copies of TV recordings so the film could be used again. As a result, many cherished TV series are missing episodes. Doctor Who, for example lost 109 episodes this way. Does Australia have any shows that suffer from the same sort of thing?

I was thinking the same thing as Maria. I'm not sure how much TV was being made in Canada until recently, at least besides shows made by the Canadian Broadcast Corp. I'm sure lots of footage has gone missing over the years. Of course now that there can be digital back-ups made and stored anywhere, I doubt this will be a problem for current shows.
I didn't realise Canada didn't make much of its own TV. Wasn't Stargate and the X-Files shot in Vancouver?
I've no clue.
