When I was growing up, I watched some cartoons that today I think are actually inappropriate for children, but were on children's channels.

cartoon network

These were mostly on Cartoon Network, such as Ren & Stimpy. Do you think this show was okay for children to watch? Do you think Cartoon Network showed other cartoons inappropriate for children, or do you think they were all fine. How about now? Have things changed? Are there any other cartoon channels you think show questionable kids cartoons?

I think Nickelodeon's Sponge Bob Square Pants is too adult at times, and I definitely think Cartoon Network showed some questionable material. Ren & Stimpy being the worst. Others than I thought were inappropriate were Cow & Chicken, and Morocco's Modern Life. I Haven't tuned into CN for some time now, so I don't know if it still shows those sorts of programmes.
I just checked, an I remembered incorrectly. Ren & Stimpy was actually a Nickelodeon cartoon.

I think in the past Cartoon Network has definitely shown programs that were not suitable for kids. Ren and Stimpy is a perfect example. I had a look at the website and the shows they have on nowadays seem ok. However we don't have pay TV so I can't speak from experience.
I think Cartoon Network has since divided their shows across many different channels for many different audiences now, so that is probably why they are more suitable.
I think this is an important question, though I have't watched CN for a long time and so am not able to say with certainty. I do remember thinking that Ren and Stimpy, Spongebob Squarepants, Total Drama Island and Johhny Bravo weren't very appropriate for children. As for Rocko's Modern Life, I can't remember much about it, but I do remember liking it despite thinking it was inappropriate at times.

Rocko, that was his name. I don't know where I got Morocco from!
Hahaha, it sounds similar!
