Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did it, and will likely do it again in season 2, the Agent Carter/Captain America spin-off show will likely do it and now Simon Kinberg, executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, has announced that they will set up Star Wars episode VII, as well as hide all kinds of easter eggs and nods to the original series.
Do you like when shows reference or plant easter eggs for upcoming movies, or do you find it annoying and just a ploy to sucker you in to watching the movies too?
I'm not bothered one way or the other. I don't think it is a ploy to get you to see the movie though, because it really does connect with what is going on in the series/storyline. It would seem silly to act as if stuff in the movies didn't impact what was happening in the TV series. I felt a bit that way with The X-Files, when the first movie came out. I think thee could have been a stronger connection/reference/acknowledgement that a whole bunch of important stuff happened between season 5 and 6 with the movie.
