Modern Family covers a range of family types, both adult's relationships with their parents, siblings relationships and step parents, adoptive parents and gay parents.
It covers a broad spectrum and covers a lot of social change since the days of Leave it to Beaver.
I think the type of families is very realistic of modern times. I find the way they all get on a little unrealistic....but I guess no one wants to watch people who hate each other all the time (well, that's for reality tv & soaps I guess)
I haven't seen enough to be sure, but I think it shows fairly believable examples of families that live outside the typical lifestyle. I say believable rather than realistic because I'm not sure how accurate it is.
Is it a realistic look at a family....Very well could be.
Are the people as funny in normal families, no.Modern family has achieved two things. We would all like to have a flowing humour in our lives, as they do.
Plus really glam in laws, but that's not quite real life.
Our (maybe) wishing we had that kind of family, is why it works!
I know I wish I had that family, I love them all. Esp Gloria...that girl is amazing.
Strong - funny - and kind of crazy - and I love Jay too.
Do I have funny people in my family, yes just the one.The rest are difficult.
Sucks to be meeeee LOL.
I am sure it is quite realistic as there are so many different families and situations these days. Personally none of the families relate to me. Although it comes close with Jay and Gloria except I am the older one and my husband is the younger one :)
