The Eurovision Song Contest began in 1956. Do you usually watch it? Are you watching this year's event? Do you vote, and which country do you root for? Your own, or the one with the best song/singer?

I used to like Eurovision, but I stopped watching it a long time ago when I realised that the voting is completely biased. People don't vote for their favourite singer, they vote for which country they are friendliest with. I also wish that each country sang in their own language rather than English.
We watch it every year. It started with my husband and I, but now my two daughters get to play too. We watch all the songs, assigning three words to each of them to help us remember them (e.g. wailing piano punks or tiny vulpine dancers), then pick three favourites each (we can't pick the same ones), and then have a competition to see whose acts do best. We regularly pick the top 8 between us - quite a good record!
Can't say we are, but we did catch sight of the Poland entry...say no more!
No, unfortunately I was on the move and didn't get a chance to enjoy the magic of Eurovision, but I'm slowly catching up to it.
Yes! I love it! I pick who is the best singer. This year I really enjoyed France and Sweden's songs.
I usually only tune in for the finals, but love watching the finals!
No. Eurovision ain't what it use to be. It ain't what it use to be...

We watched the last 2 or 3 episodes of the 2016 Eurovision 1. The Aussie certainly should have won that 1!! She only came 2nd.This 1 was certainly rigged! We heard the winning song, & it was curtly nowhere near as good as our girl!!!

It is not rigged, but it is biased; that is why Britain never wins, no iloneblikes us lol.

To be honest - and no offence intended - I don't understand why Australia is in Eurovision as it is not part of Europe.
Bryony Harrison: That's exactly what my husband & I were asking, re, your very last comment! Yes, & how did Au get into it in the 1st place? Most odd!

I have no question about how good their singer was or that they had just as much right to win as everyone else once in the contest, but they really shouldn't be in it at all. Not unless you decide to change the contest Worldvision.

On a side note, now the UK is leaving the EU, I wonder what our position will be. I don't think we should be in the contest anymore, but I expect we probably will be.
