In Canada there are three major cable providers: Bell, Telus, and Shaw. They all offer similar services, an array of channel packages, PVR and On-Demand services, but their services have always been dependent of a monthly fee for basic cable, until now.

Bell and Shaw are both launching streaming services, Bell with Crave TV and Shaw with Shomi. Both will offer a service similar to Netflix, where TV shows and movies will stream over the internet to computers, tablets, and TVs.

Are cable providers in your area starting to offer the streaming services? Is this a service you would be interested in? If you’ve tried it, how did you like it?

Not that I am aware of -if they are they are not advertising it well, or I do not understand the advertising.

I would probably be interested in this if it were made simple to understand.

I don't think so. I haven't heard anything yet!
We have several catch-up channels available on our cable tv.
Yes some do and some don't. I think the ones that do are being clever because that's the future of TV IMHO
